The question is not, “How stupid must one be?” The question is simply…”How greedy?”
I sat down this morning to watch four different Christian broadcasts by four highly popular evangelists. Each program lasted a total of thirty minutes each and the entire time allotted for each broadcast was entirely devoted to the message outlined in paragraph one. On a couple of the shows high powered guests were brought in to stress the importance of the listening audience hearing God’s voice by honoring the prophet, (or in this case…host of the show), with the first fruits of their labor. In so doing, the listener was guaranteed an overflowing of financial abundance from God. It doesn’t take very much imagination to see how this message would entice listeners across a nation that is currently experiencing great recession and joblessness. Out of great desperation, without benefit of real truth…people will fall for almost anything. The wolves know this well.
Each show was similar in nature to being invited to a local multi-level marketing presentation at the home of a friend or relative where you have been promised that a high powered achiever in the organization is flying in from a far away state to share his story of success. This is all designed to pump up the audience to sign on with the local person who invited you to the meeting, thereby helping the one who signed them up and so on, and so on. The grand design of pumping up the lowly minions while elevating the few chosen elite is very much the same principle of the current prosperity gospel. Although, attributing the word, “gospel” anywhere in the equation is a fraud in and of itself.
Well, if you’ve ever been involved in multi-level marketing, there is one thing you are well educated in. Number one…there are millions of people grasping, inviting, harassing and working like little soldiers to elevate a very elite few to the top of the financial empire. In short…millions are bloody, while a few are prospering with great wealth.
I am writing today to say simply that to reduce the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for fallen man down to the filthy lust and greedy teachings of false and ravenous, religious wolves who preach this sickening and egotistical message for person wealth, power and fame, is an atrocity that far exceeds the money changers driven from the temple by Jesus himself. It is a twisted lie, built on greed, the manipulative pasting of scriptures to sustain that greed, while having no regard for the battered and bloody sheep left in its path. What is worse is the fact that these arrogant and corrupt wolves from hell have the gall to look at the dying sheep and reprimand them for not yet giving enough to ring God’s bell of favor in their direction so that they may soon mirror the image of the demons who sell this cheap and carnival distortion of the sacrificed Lamb of God.
Sound strong for a guy who has built a ministry on preaching forgiveness and mercy? I’m just getting started.
There is a line in the sand for every man. There is a time when we all must say, “Back to Hell with your false doctrine and back to Hell with your greed and arrogance.” And make no mistake about it, God is the defender of the innocent, with arms open for the broken. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. His heart is pure and His great love and sacrifice shows no favor to wealth, status or the lack thereof. Heed these words…”The time is as close as the coming change of season when God shall bring this hoax to its knees. Soon, all will see the heart of the truest Father come forth when He sees His precious lambs lying bloody, broken and trampled by the self made mini-gods of ostentatious prosperity and arrogance.”
Hear my words. John 3: 18 says, “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and ONLY Son.” That son’s name is not Danny, Bill, Bob, John, Benny or Kenneth. That name is Jesus. Our name holds no power of its own and no amount of fame, prosperity or charismatic personality shall undermine or usurp the authority and power that rests in that wonderful name. JESUS…JESUS…Jesus.
Unlike the core message of this false gospel, Jesus never came to take, He only came to give. This devious message is the exact reverse. Every word, every twisting of scripture and every arrogant and egotistical move and word is designed to TAKE, while giving nothing back but false hope and manipulative and empty promises. It is time for the church to WAKE UP and say, “Enough is enough!"
This message teaches that the core of the heart of God our Father is that we should be rich. Every sermon and every conference is on this one single subject. MONEY.
While the truth is that the heart of God our Father is first and foremost that we love the Lord our God will all of our hearts and the second like unto it…that we love our neighbor as ourselves. This sums up the entire law of the Prophets and reflects why Jesus came, why he died and why He is soon returning to gather us to himself. Jesus is not coming to gather our wealth, possessions or pass out certificates to our great fame and popularity. He is coming to gather those who have been redeemed by the blood of the ONLY begotten Son of the living God! He will have no need for the filth of our wealth, ego and fame. The real treasure lies ahead. The real proof will be in the pudding of that which we have stored in a place where neither moth nor rust can destroy it, and not in the false merit system we have erected to the false god of material prosperity.
If you want to know what Jesus thought of this huge concern over money and material provision you need look no further than His own words in Luke 12: 22-31 when He said. “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens; They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek His kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.”
Jesus calls the teaching of focus on money, material goods and the supposed formulas we hear over and over again from the prosperity wolves designed to deliver to us these riches as “the things of pagans.” It is a distorted truth set aflame by from the very bowels of greed and unbridled lustful desire for material gain. Jesus made it clear that where a man’s treasure is found, there is also found the focus of his heart. By this measure, examine the financial holdings of the wolves who gleefully spread this lie of personal prosperity as God’s sign of blessing. When you have finished counting the various mansions, fleets of luxury automobiles, vacation homes, furs, jewelry, jets and lavish bank accounts…consider the heart of the wolf, while standing in the blood of many sheep it took to get there.
